Phnom Penh April 22nd, 2025 – RMA Automotive Cambodia officially inaugurated its new Ford sub-assembly plant in Pursat, Cambodia, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion. The inauguration ceremony was presided by Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The ceremony was also attended by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers, Her Excellency, Kevin Whitcraft – CEO RMA Group, Ngorn Saing – CEO RMA Cambodia, and distinguished national and international guests from various ministries, government institutions, embassies, chambers of commerce, private sector companies, media representatives, factory workers, and local residents.
The expansion of the new RMA Automotive Cambodia production line and the construction of sub-assembly plant have increased the company’s investment from $21 to $26.8 million and expanded the construction area from 5 to 12 hectares. This investment has upgraded RMA Automotive Cambodia’s Ford vehicles production process from Complete Knock-Down (CKD) to Incomplete Knock-Down (IKD-1), enabling production capacity of up to 10,000 vehicles per year.
Beyond infrastructure, the expansion of this project has also created hundreds of job opportunities, improved the economic livelihoods of local community, and contributed to workforce development through the transfer of knowledge, technology, and skills training in Cambodia’s automotive industry.
RMA Automotive Cambodia has also received international recognition for producing Ford vehicles in Cambodia, officially labeled “Made in Cambodia” by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International with 7,492 Ford vehicles assembled between 2022 and April 2025. This inauguration not only represents a key step in RMA’s growth but also highlights its rising presence in regional manufacturing and its commitment to sustainable industrial development.
