Tell us about your career to date at RMA Group?

Landing my first job as an After-Sales Manager at Ford Cambodia, with zero car experience, RMA showed faith in me and really boosted my confidence. It taught me that anything is possible with the right attitude, and that our leaders are continually there to provide support where needed. Working closely with the leadership team in Cambodia and occasionally with the Bangkok head office continues to be inspiring, whilst also helping me become a better manager and customer service provider in the process.

Tell us about how you lead your teams in your local business/country?

I encourage my team to focus on results, as achieving results will bring recognition. Empowering others to make decisions is the most important aspect, as not making a decision when you have to is worse than making it and getting it wrong. Furthermore, as a leader I’ve found that it’s important to trust people with additional responsibilities (even when they are not ready), and providing support where needed. This helps them grow, and helps make my job more fulfilling.

What was your biggest challenge working in different markets?

When I moved to a new market in a new country, I was completely pushed out of my comfort zone. I had to adapt to new cultures, make new friends, and navigate new environments. It was challenging at first, but I pushed myself to get involved in new organizations, participate in more activities, and meet new people. Through this experience, I gained confidence in myself and my ability to adapt to unfamiliar situations. For every failure I went through, I learnt from it and focused on doing better. Through this, I learned that perseverance and self-improvement are keys to winning.
